Bass processor
Crypta
Split your bass. Compress the lows. Twist the guts out of the highs.
AU · VST3 · Standalone · macOS & Windows · AGPL-3.0
Formerly Twist Your Guts — renamed as part of the suite's move to Basilica Audio naming. The new plugin identity means DAWs treat it as a new plugin; v0.1.0-era sessions need re-pointing.
About
A Parallax-style bass plugin: as of v0.2.0 it splits your bass into low, mid and high bands with two cascaded Linkwitz-Riley crossovers, compresses the low band in parallel, drives the mid band with staged saturation, and runs the high band through a choice of three distortion voicings before summing everything back through a 4-band EQ and an impulse-response (cab sim) loader.
Why the name?
The crypt lies beneath the basilica: the oldest, deepest room, carrying the entire building on its shoulders. Crypta is the suite's bass foundation — split, compressed and driven so the low end carries everything above it.
Features
- Split Low / Split High — two cascaded LR4 crossovers carving low/mid/high bands, 60 Hz–2 kHz (v0.2.0, replaces the single v0.1.x crossover)
- Low band — parallel ("glue"-style) compressor with makeup gain, wet/dry mix and output level
- Mid band — staged/cascaded saturation drive for a distinct "throatier" grind (new in v0.2.0)
- High band — three distortion voicings, each 4× oversampled: Gnaw (op-amp hard clip), Wool (cascaded soft-clip fuzz), Razor (tight overdrive), plus a High Tight pre-drive filter
- Noise gate — full-band, ahead of the crossover split
- 4-band EQ — LowShelf / Peak / Peak / HighShelf after the band sum
- IR loader — cabinet simulation on the Mid+High path only, never the Low band (relocated in v0.2.0)
- Delay-compensated signal path — bands time-aligned, oversampling latency reported to the host
- Factory presets & preset management — browse/save/import/export via the in-plugin preset bar
- Full state save/recall
